Planet Ice Basics

These sessions are held weekly at Planet Ice Altrincham and serve as an introduction to ice hockey. They are aimed towards absolute beginners and former players (of a certain standard) that are looking to return to the sport.

On these sessions, players are usually mentored by current Manchester Swarm coach Mark Ferriss, who is assisted by Alex Lally and Dale Hargrove. Other Manchester Swarm players act as 'guest coaches' on occasion.

A large percentage of the current Manchester Swarm roster started their journeys by attending these Basics sessions.

The sessions are every Sunday, 21:30-22:30, costing £10 per session. Timings can vary on occasion during the regular Elite League season depending where Manchester Storm are playing, this also means that some sessions could be cancelled.

Some kit can be provided by Planet Ice (eg: stick, helmet and skates though if have your own equipment then it is recommended you wear it).

Ice Hockey Basics is hosted by Planet Ice UK, the session itself is not organised by Manchester Swarm Ice Hockey Club.
